Road Safety Knowledge and Awareness Increase in the Region of Adjara
On October 1-2, the road safety trainings were delivered for school teachers, pupils and marshals in the region of Adjara by the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety”; the trainings are held within the project “Road Safety Knowledge and Awareness Increase in the Region of Adjara”. The special information materials, manuals, reflectors and questionnaires for marshals were prepared.
The representatives of the organization delivered the trainings for marshals working in Shuakhevi, Skhalti and Khulo; the main traffic problems, causing factors and the role of society to improve the problems and decrease the traffic risks, in particular marshals’ role, were discussed. With the initiative of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety”, the special questionnaires for marshals were prepared, where the questions about traffic risks and road accidents are given and describe the traffic risks on the territory, where those marshals work.
In addition, the special trainings were prepared at school in Shuakhevi and resource center in Khulo, and the trainings for children were held at public schools in Chanchkhalo and Skhalti. The traffic and road safety problems in Georgia and particularly in Adjara, and traffic rules were introduced to the school pupils. The school pupils learned the information about competition “Road Safety Champions”, where they can take participation. At the end of the meeting, the children received the information materials and reflectors.
