Road Safety Education at Two Public Schools in the Region of Kakheti

On June 11, the presentation on roads safety was held at public schools in two villages of the Region of Kakheti. The campaign is being implemented for the project “Awareness and Education Campaigns on Road Safety in Kakheti Region”.
At the meeting, Irakli Izoria, Director of the foudnation, and Keti Murusidze, Project Coordinator delivered training; they talked about the project tasks and planned activities of the project. After the discussion with the schoolchildren, the main road safety problems and risk-factors were defined. The children agreed that without their engagement and keeping the traffic rules, it is impossible to decrease the road accidents.
The event was attended by the pupils and teachers of the school.
The project is implemented by the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Roads Department of Georgia. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has been implementing the regional road development project with the financial help of World Bank since 2009; and the foundation will organize the educational campaign in order to increase the road safety awareness and to decrease the risks of road accidents.
