2nd Road Safety Workshop, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

On 16-18 August, the road safety workshop was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The representatives of 11 countries were working on the completion of a regional road safety strategy for Central and West Asia. Among them was Georgia and the founder of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” Gela Kvashilava.

The regional road safety strategy is designed to cut fatalities in the region by half by 2030. The draft strategy will be in parallel circulated on 1 September 2016 as reference material for the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation  (CAREC) meeting scheduled on 20 September 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.  The final strategy document will be approved by the year-end Senior Officials' Meeting and subsequently by the 15th CAREC Ministerial Conference.
