Presentation of the Project “Awareness and Education Campaigns on Road Safety in Kakheti Region”

On February 26, the presentation of the project ““Awareness and Education Campaigns on Road Safety in Kakheti Region” was held at the hotel “Old Telavi” in Telavi, the Region of Kakheti. The presentation was attendeed by Vaja Panchulidze, Chairman of Road Department of Georgia, Irakli Litanishvili, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, Platon Kalmakhelidze, Mayor of Telavi, the representatives of police department of Kakheti, local educational recourse centers, school directors and media.   

The project is implemented with the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Roads Department of Georgia. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has been implementing the regional road development project with the financial help of World Bank; and the foundation will organize the educational campaign in order to increase the road safety awareness and to decrease the risks of road accidents. 

The goal of the project is to improve the road behavior of all road users, such as pedestrians, drivers, and children, and to increase the safety level of local people in the Region of Kakheti.
