Presentation of the Project “Awareness and Education Campaigns on Road Safety in Kakheti Region” on Radio “Liberty”

On March 25, the main topic of the program “Tbilisi’s Studio” on the radio “Liberty” was the project “Awareness and Education Campaigns on Road Safety in Kakheti Region”. The guests of the live program were Gela Kvashilava, the Chairman of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety”, and Irakli Litanishvili, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia. They talked about the road safety problems in the Region of Kakheti, the importance of the project and future activities.

Within the project, the educational road safety lessons for children and teachers will be delivered at schools in Kakheti. Street actions will call the drivers, passengers and pedestrians to keep the traffic rules and allow the law. The goal of the project is to improve the road behavior of all road users, such as pedestrians, drivers, and children, and to increase the safety level of local people in the Region of Kakheti.

 The project is implemented by the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Roads Department of Georgia. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has been implementing the regional road development project with the financial help of World Bank; and the foundation will organize the educational campaign in order to increase the road safety awareness and to decrease the risks of road accidents.
