Campaign “Slow Down” at the St. Dimitri Kipiani Public School-Collage

On November 27, the director of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” Irakli Izoria and professional car racer Shako Tsikhelashvili visited the St. Dimitri Kipiani Public School-Collage. Mr. Irakli Izoria delivered the road safety presentation “Slow Down, Let Pedestrians Walk!”. The visit was dedicated to the Day of Memory of the Road Injuries and Dead People.

World Health Organization (WHO) announced the third Sunday of November as the Day of Dead and Injured People on the Road according to the UN Resolution in 2009.

The goal of the meeting was to inform students about the high number of road crashes on the Georgian roads, which cause the traumas and fatal results. The dialogue was developed with the schoolchidlren. The movie about road safety issues was shown to the children, by which they can understand the traffic rules in a better way. In order to solve the problem, it is necessary to involve the representatives of business, media, NGO-s, healthcare systems, and their coordinative activities, by this way the number of death and injuries can be decreased
