Campaign “Clean Air for Georgian Cities” in Batumi

On July 15, the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety”, Civil Society Institute, environment protection organization “Ecovision”, Batumi Youth Center, LTD Auto Transport of Batumi and Batumi City Hall organized the event – Green Hour in Batumi! The goal of the campaign is to contribute to the safe, clean, accessible and green transport development, and to promote the healthy life among the society.

During the day, different kinds of activities were held, such as bike-tour in the city with the slogan: Campaign – Choose healthy, cheap, simple transport – Bicycle!; information booklets were distributed among the public transport passengers during the action- When the engine starts – in order to promote the public transport and increase the awareness about air quality monitoring.

After the event, the presentation was conducted on the topic: Green City: Safe, Clean, Accessible, and Green Transport Place in the Modern City”. During the presentation, reporters talked about the green policy of the city and problems and challenges of modern transport. In the campaign, the local government and media representatives participated actively. The air-monitoring sensor was given to the Batumi government. Totally 3 sensors are installed in Batumi.

The project is being realized by the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” and partner organizations “Elva” and “Eco Vision”.
