Series of Articles: Myths and Reality II

In the parallel of modern transport challenges, the series of articles “Myths and Reality” are prepared. The second article from this series “About the Cooperation with EU for Transport Safety” reviews the problems connected with the transport in Georgia.

In the article, the main point is on the air pollution and lack of safety caused by the old transport, and benefits of increase of new transport and modernization of vehicles, which will be supported by the decrease of taxes on the new cars. The author explains the necessity of the transport technical checking and gives two main determinant factors, such as 1) keeping simple safety standards on roads; and 2) negative impact of transport on the environment.

The series of articles are prepared by Mr. Gela Kvashilava, the founder of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety”.
