Foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" Joined the Eastern Partnership
The
foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" joined the Georgian National Platform
of Eastern Partnership (National Platform), which is the union
of local and international NGOs registered in Georgia including social partners
that aim to promote and fulfill the goals of Eastern Partnership initiated by
the EU in the eastern neighborhood. Member organizations of Georgian
National Platform agree that European integration is the most perspective way
for economic, social and political development of Georgia and by joining the
platform they take on obligation to promote this process.
The
goal of the foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" is to ensure that the
Georgia’s transport system has social, economic and environmental faces, and
that it actively promotes the safety, security and protection of users,
property, general public and environment. Therefore, we are going to work with
EU institutions several directions, including: activities making Georgian
regulatory and institutional reform closer to the EU standards, sharing
activities addressing road users, improved medical care for crash victims and
activities to change society’s attitude to road safety; promoting road safety
culture and supporting youth road safety education; promotion of clean and safe
transport, conducting research and implementing of projects in order to reduce
the negative impact of road transport on the environment; sharing
internationally recognized successful best practice and experience in the field
of road safety; involving Georgian road safety in the global road safety
movement and cross border cooperation.
