Foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" in Akhaltsikhe

The representatives of the foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" conducted the presentation in the office of "Union of Democratic Meskhetians" in Akhaltsikhe. The presentation was about the projects "Friendly Roads" and "Clean Air for Georgian Cities". The event was attended by the members of different organizations, media representatives, youth, students and interested citizens. The information materials and road reflectors were distributed among the guests.

The project "Friendly Roads" is being implemented in the whole Georgia. The main goal of the project is to improve the road safety and decreases the deaths and injuries. The project considers creating the web-portal, which is defined for uploading videos, photos and information about danger places on the street, such as road incident, lack of traffic sings, and bad road infrastructure, etc. All the information is displayed on the online map in the automated regime, which is available for everyone.

The overall purpose of the project "Clean Air for Georgian Cities" is to promote healthier, cleaner air throughout Georgia’s cities through implementing a powerful community-led advocacy and monitoring campaign. The project’s specific objective is to monitor air quality through a public, cost-effective monitoring system throughout Georgia. The project includes several components, such as arranging the eco clubs at schools and involving the children in the process of collecting data on air quality, and installing "air quality monitoring sensors" in different cities, which provide the information in the automated regime and create the database.
