Children’s Car Restraints for New-Born Babies
On the
9th of November, the foundation "Partnership for Road Safety" gave
the children’s car restraints to the new-born babies. The event was held at the
Georgian Patriarchate Medical Centre. With the car restraints, the mothers
received road safety materials, and the director of the Medical Centre Vato
Surguladze gave them the scared icons of Holy Ioakim and Ana.
The
main goal of the event was to pay attention to the importance of children’s car
restraints and prohibition for children under the age of 12 to occupy the front
seat in a car. The foundation will actively work on the children’s road safety,
in particular to work out the legislative changes about forbidding children to
sit in the front seat and use a child restraint seat.
The event
is implemented within the program "Develop the Dialogue on the Public Policy
between Non-Governmental Sector and Parliament of Georgia". The program is prepared by the Westminster Foundation
for Democracy with the financial support of European Union.
