Wearing Seatbelts May Become Mandatory in Georgia!

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently on his official visit to the United States, after meeting the mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg said that road safety is a major problem in Georgia and it has to be dealt with by using the American experience. The President highlighted the issue of seatbelts, namely the initiative of their mandatory wearing by drivers in Georgia. The President also noted that several times wearing a seatbelt had saved him personally from serious injuries in a car accident. Hence, very soon using seatbelts may become mandatory for car drivers throughout Georgia – on highways and city streets alike.
