International Transport Forum I
On
the 28th of September, the International Transport Forum I was held
at the hotel “Courtyard Marriott” by the “City Institute Georgia”. The founder
of the foundation “Partnership for Road Safety” Gela Kvashilava delivered the
presentation on the city transport system development.
Gela
Kvashilava talked about the pedestrians, how they can become the first class
road users, how the infrastructure should be developed in the city, current
challenges and problem solving ways (road signs, safety islands, parking
places, bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks).
The Forum aims to introduce the modern approaches in the transport system, share the experience of urban transport development and modern conceptual decisions of other countries. The Forum was attended by the representatives of government, Tbilisi City Hall, Tbilisi City Council, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, diplomats and international donor organizations.
