Mobile Phones and Driving Safety

Researches show that using a (hand-held or hands-free) mobile phone while driving causes failure of attention and increases the risk of a crash.
Drivers using mobile phones (hand-held or hands-free):

*Are less aware of what is happening on the road.
*Are more likely to clash the vehicle in front.
*React more slowly and take longer to brake.
*Create danger on the crossings.
*Feel more stressed and frustrated.

Moreover, they are four times more likely to crash, injure or kill themselves or other people. Using hands-free phone while driving does not reduce the risk because the problems are caused by distraction and diverting attention to the phone, while driving.
According to Georgian legislation, drivers who use a mobile phone while driving are fined with 10 GEL.
