Promoting of Cycling in Georgia
One of the main topics of the morning program on TV “Rustavi 2” was bicycle as a transport. The guests were Gela Kvashilava, founder of the “Partnership for Road Safety” and TamazTikanadze, Head of the Cycling Club.
The guests of the TV program talked about the challenges of cycling in the city due to the landscape. Gela Kvashilava said: “In order to destroy myths, we invited the Dutch experts in Georgia; and they told us that most of the city streets are so wide that we can construct the cycling infrastructure in Tbilisi”. The guests also explained the importance of cycling development in Tbilisi, as it will contribute to the clean transport development and decrease of car number; therefore, it is necessary to create the appropriate cycling infrastructure in Tbilisi.
