Clean Air for Georgian Cities
The foundation
“Partnership for Road Safety” started the implementation of the new project
“Clean Air for Georgian Cities” by the collaboration with the organizations
“Eco Vision” and “Elva”. The overall purpose of the project “Clean Air for
Georgian Cities” is to promote healthier, cleaner air throughout Georgia‟s cities through implementing a powerful
community-led advocacy and monitoring campaign. The project‟s specific objective
is to monitor air quality through a public, cost- effective monitoring
system throughout Georgia. The project includes several components, such as
arranging the eco clubs at schools and involving the children in the process of
collecting data on air quality, and installing air quality monitoring
sensors in different cities, which will provide the information in the
automated regime and will create the database. Within the project “Clean
Air for Georgian Cities”, 80 air quality monitoring sensors are bought. Most
air quality monitoring sensors are already installed. The air quality
monitoring sensors is covering whole Georgia, by which the level of air quality
pollution is measured. Working on the site and online map is finished. The map
depicts the air quality pollution level at the specific places, and the
citizens can see where the air is polluted and the air pollution exceeds the
norms. Soon, the information video about the project, eco life and air quality
will be shown for the wide public, which has been prepared
recently. TV commercial and radio ad will be prepared, which will be
broadcasted on TV channels and will be aired on the radio.
