UN Second Road Safety Week and Walk in Batumi

In the framework of the UN Second Road Safety Week, on the 10th of May, the Long Short Walk was organized in Batumi, Adjara. The walk was implemented with the initiative of the foundation "Partnership for Road Safety". The walk started from the Ilia Chavchavadze Theatre to the 6 May Park through Rustaveli Avenue.
In 2013, the Road Safety Week is dedicated to the pedestrians’ rights. The goal of the campaign is "Safe Roads for All". The walk in Batumi was managed with the help of the Civil Club "Balavari" of the 2nd Public School. Schoolchildren, students, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, media and interested citizens were involved in the walk. The participants wear the special T-shirts, and the information flyers and accessories were disseminated.
Within the UN Second Global Week, the walk is organized in the different cities of the world during 6-12 May. Georgia also joined the global campaign. In addition, on 29th of April the walk was implemented in Telavi, too.
