Global Fuel Economy Initiative(GFEI)

Safety Foundation (PfRS), in cooperation with Caucasus Environmental NGO
Network (CENN) implemented the initiative - 'Initiation of an Auto Fuel
Efficiency Program in Georgia & Development of the Caucasus Fuel Economy
Initiative (CFEI)'. As the first initiative to address auto fuel economy
specifically in the region, this project was a part of the Global Fuel Economy
Initiative (GFEI) and was supported by the United Nations Environment Program
(UNEP), as well as GFEI partner organizations: the International Energy Agency
(IEA), the International Transport Forum (ITF) and the FIA Foundation. The
other members of the project were the non- governmental organizations from Azerbaijan
and Armenia. Within the project, the foundation prepared the different kinds of
legislative documents and analysis for the sustainable transport, air pollution
and fuel economy.
