National Sustainable Urban Transport Policy Workshop III

Within the project “Green Cities: Integrated Sustainable Transport
for the City of Batumi and the Adjara Region”, the third workshop was held at
Courtyard Marriott Hotel, Tbilisi. The meeting was attended by the government,
international and local non-governmental organization representatives, media
and interested people.
The meeting was divided into two sessions. The main speakers of
the meeting were Gela Kvashilava (Partnership for Road Safety, Chairman) and
Irakli Samkharadze (Senior National Adviser). They talked about the ongoing
results of the project and recommendations.
The project “Green Cities: Integrated Sustainable Transport for
the City of Batumi and the Adjara Region” is being with the support of UNDP,
GEF and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of
Georgia. The project aims at developing the sustainable and integrated
municipal transport system and forming the sustainable transport policy.
